Failure to meet this deadline results in an automatic suspension, with no opportunity for a new hearing and less likely for a restricted license (work permit).

For a first offense of drunk driving (.08 blood alcohol content), your license will be suspended for 90 days. If your BAC was higher, if there were aggravating factors, or if this is your second or third offense, your suspension will be longer, or it will be revoked. Revocation means that your license is canceled, and you must petition the MVD to get your license reinstated after the proscribed period.
After 30 days of suspension, some drivers will qualify for a restricted license that allows them to drive to and from work, to school, to medical appointments and certain other authorized travel for the remaining period. (Higher level and repeat DUI offenses may not receive a work permit.) We help clients get this permission from the MVD.
